FIMMWAVE is a generic, robust, fully vectorial mode finder for 2D+z waveguide structures, which may be of almost any geometry, including SOI, polymer and etched GaAs/AlGaAs waveguides, as well as single and multicore fibres. FIMMWAVE contains a variety of robust and computationally efficient solvers optimised for generic rectangular structures often encountered in opto-electronics, circular fibres with generic radial refractive index profiles, or more general profiles such as diffused waveguides.
