Ansys EMAX 8.0

ANSYS, Inc. first introduced electromagnetics analysis capability in 1983 with the ANSYS/EMAG3D product. ANSYS/EMAG3D originally included only electrostatic, magnetostatic and Low Frequency electromagnetic capability. High Frequency electromagnetic elements were added to ANSYS/EMAG3D at release 5.4 in 1997. The ANSYS/EMAG3D product was made available as a stand-alone product, and as an add-on to the ANSYS/Mechanical product. All of the ANSYS/EMAG3D capability was exposed in the ANSYS/Multiphysics product. At release 5.7 (Q4 2000) the High Frequency Electromagnetics capability was removed from the EMAG3D product into a new stand alone physics module, tentatively called ANSYS/EMAG HF. This module was actually never made commercially available, instead it morphed into the ANSYS Emax project. ANSYS Emax used an ICEM CFD GUI and ANSYS Multiphysics solvers...
