NavCAD是一个用于船舶快速性能预报和分析的模块，它可以用于选择合适的推进系统单元，包括主机、齿轮箱和推进器等。NavCAD适用于各种排水型、半排水型船、滑行艇、内河驳船和船队、帆船和双体船等船型。它还可以对敞水桨、导管桨、表面桨以及喷水推进器的拖曳和自航试验进行分析。 NavCAD与其它同类软件不同，它不是仅仅局限于在一两个方面对船舶快速性进行有限的分析，而是提供了一个可以从船体到主机进行静态平衡分析的完整平台。它给诸如最低船体阻力分析和多目标螺旋桨优化设计等工作提供了强大的支持。NavCAD认为，船舶的航速不是船舶的极限速度，不是船舶劈波斩浪地航行速度，也不是所谓的最大设计速度。每条船在其排水量模式下航行时，都要产生艏波系和艉波系。随着航速的增加，波长也增加，两波系之间的相位差也会交替变换，这种相位的变换造成阻力曲线的峰谷交替而凹凸变化（这也是球鼻艏的工作机理，即球鼻艏自身产生的波系抵偿并降低了一部分艏波）。设计者不能通过船舶航速的计算知道阻力曲线峰谷处的振幅，而只能知道阻力出现峰值的位置（进一步的分析表明，很多船体参数都影响阻力峰值的大小和位置，最主要的是菱形系数和艉封板浸湿特性）。如果在船舶航速附近有一个阻力峰值，说明此处的航速不经济，但这个航速并不是一个不可逾越的物理极限。总之，如果可能，船舶航速是一个应尽量避免的航速。采用阻力谷值而不是峰值处的航速，这样船体的效率才高。 用户输入船体性能参数、选择阻力估算方法后，就可以应用最低船体阻力分析方法来优化船体线型特征，即只需指定各参数的变化搜索范围及变化步长（例如船长、船宽、浮心纵向位置等），NavCAD就可估算该船各个排列组合方案的阻力并按阻力大小顺序自动进行排列，具有最低阻力的最优船型方案显示在表列首项，并按百分比的形式列出其它方案与最低阻力方案的性能差异。NavCAD还可以运用加权平均法对船舶的快速性进行两个航速（民船一般为试航速度和服务航速，军用舰艇则为战斗航速和巡航速度）下的综合权衡分析。这一功能是NavCAD所独有的。 NavCAD通过如下的措施来确保阻力估算的精度： 具有一个包含有大量估算方法的方法库（仅裸船体阻力估算方法就多达30余种）； 运用各种方法之间的相似兼容部分； 根据特定的技术状态进行针对性计算； 具有一个完善的分析环境，使得关键因素（如浅水阻力影响）不被忽略； 能作出详尽的评估和内部检测。 另外，NavCAD还包含了HydroComp的估算方法适用性评估系统。这种功能，可以根给定据船舶特征，由航速大小、船体参数特性以及其它一些特殊参数（例如，某种估算方法中引入了水线面系数和纵倾等因素对阻力的影响），排列筛选出最适用于指定船舶的阻力估算方法。当某种估算方法按照指定船舶信息估算出异常结果时，系统会自动发出警告信息。 NavCAD不仅可以作为一个单独的标准工具使用，而且可以连同其它的船舶工程设计软件一起使用。NavCAD使用参数化的船体数据，使得船舶各细节的输入非常方便。NavCAD同时支持IMSA开放的船体数据传输标准（IDF），这样在其它程序中开发的船体数据可以被输出到NavCAD中。在其它的设计程序中也可运行NavCAD；将设计数据输入NavCAD并运算分析后，新的优化船体参数可以返回到主程序。HydroComp公司与主要的船舶软件开发商进行合作，使得NavCAD可以在其它的系统中运行，而且船体参数可以自动地生成和传送。同样，用户也可以在NavCAD中调用其它的程序，其数据交换的格式基于标准的ASCII码。 最新NavCAD3.8版的主要改进在于提高了用户的工作效率，并提高了估算结果的精度和可靠性。最引人注目的新特性是基于CT的阻力预报。在先前的版本中，估算方法可以用于排水型、半排水型船及帆船等船型，一个船体的定义往往需要来回反复地修改；而3.8版中，所有这些船体的阻力估算方法和船体数据均集中在一个屏幕中输入，参数的输入也可以用无因次的形式进行（如长度/宽度比，宽度/吃水比等）。Product:HydroComp NavCad 2004.v5.08 Lanaguage:English Platform:/WinNT/2000/XP Size:15MB
